This video will show you how your Distal Jet will work to shift your teeth to prepare you for the next stage of your orthodontic treatment
Distal Jet

After your Distal Jet is fitted…

  • It can take up to a week to adjust to wearing your Distal Jet. Chewing, swallowing and talking may feel awkward or different at first however this will settle as your mouth adjusts to having the plate in place.
  • You can take over the counter analgesics such as Nurofen or Panadol to manage any discomfort.
  • The plate is designed to accommodate a normal diet besides any foods that are very hard, sticky or chewy as these can cause breakages of the plate. A soft food diet can help you adjust to eating with your plate in place. Some examples include soft sandwiches, rice, pasta, scrambled egg, jelly and custard. See our soft foods eBook below for some great recipes.
