New Year, New Career!
According to job search engine SimplyHired, the first Monday after the New Year is the busiest time of the year for people searching for employment. Along with your wealth of experience, a professional resume and cover letter, your appearance during the interview is of paramount importance. Unfortunately for many, the neatest suit and shiniest shoes cannot cover up a crooked smile or misaligned teeth. There is simply no masking your teeth.
An Invisalign survey asked over 1000 people about the impressions a good smile and straight teeth have on forming an opinion of a person, and the results showed that there is higher trust, connection and positive first impression of someone with attractive teeth as part of a nice smile. In fact, some of the results showed
- Nearly three in four people would be more likely to trust someone with a nice smile than someone with a good job, outfit, or car.
- Those with straight teeth are 21% more likely to be seen as happy, 47% more likely to be viewed as being healthy and 38% more likely to be perceived as smart.
- Those with straight teeth are perceived to be 45% more likely than those with crooked teeth to get a job when competing with someone who has a similar skill set and experience. They are also seen as 58% more likely to be successful, as well as 58% more likely to be wealthy.
We can’t guarantee that straight teeth and a nicer smile will get you an immediate promotion, but they will help to make a positive first and lasting impression.
